Oridonin inibisce efficacemente la proliferazione di un'ampia varietà di cellule tumorali, incluse quelle di prostata (LNCaP, DU145, PC3), seno (MCF-7, MDA-MB231), polmone non a piccole cellule (NSCL) (NCI-H520, NCI-H460, NCI-H1299), leucemia promielocitica acuta (NB4) e glioblastoma multiforme (U118, U138) con ED50 che vanno da 1,8 a 7,5 μg/ml. Le attività antitumorali di questo composto possono essere dovute ai suoi effetti inibitori sulle vie di segnalazione NF-kappaB e MAPKs. |
