In vitro La somministrazione di VPS34-IN1 alle cellule induce una rapida dispersione dose-dipendente di una sonda specifica legante il PtdIns(3)P dalle membrane degli endosomi, entro 1 minuto, senza influenzare la capacità della PI3K di classe I di regolare Akt. Può anche indurre una rapida perdita di ~50-60% della fosforilazione di SGK3 entro 1 minuto. Questo composto non ha inibizione sull'isoforma SGK2 che non possiede un dominio PX legante il PtdIns(3)P.
