L'inibitore di PKM2 (Composto 3K, PKM2-IN-1) mostra un'attività inibitoria di PKM2 con un valore di IC50 di 2,95 μM. Il valore di IC50 per PKM1 è 4-5 volte superiore a quello per PKM2.

Il ben funzionante PKM2 inhibitor (compound 3k) mostra attività antiproliferativa nanomolare verso una serie di linee cellulari tumorali con alta espressione di PKM2, tra cui HCT116, Hela e H1299, con valori di IC50 che vanno da 0,18-1,56 μM. Inoltre, esso esibisce maggiore citotossicità sulle cellule tumorali rispetto alle cellule normali.
