Descrizione La Tetrandrine, un alcaloide bis-benzilisochinolina derivato da Stephania tetrandra, è un bloccante dei Calcium Channel.

La Tetrandrine inibisce le correnti di Ca2+ voltaggio-dipendenti con una IC50 di 10,1 mM in terminali nervosi isolati della neuroipofisi di ratto. Questo composto è un bloccante ad alta affinità del canale K+ attivato dal Ca(2+) di tipo II, maxi, dei terminali neuroipofisari di ratto con una IC50 di 0,21 mM. Un altro studio mostra che inibisce anche le correnti di Cl- attivate dal Ca(2+) (I(Cl,Ca)) con una IC50 di 5,2 mM. Questa sostanza chimica inibisce la proliferazione delle cellule leucemiche umane HL-60 tramite l'induzione dell'apoptosi.

BMMs were seeded in a collage I-coated plate and incubated with RANKL (100 ng/ml) and M-CSF (50 ng/ml) for 5 d. When mature osteoclasts were observed, they were digested by collagenase and seeded on bovine bone slices. The bone slices were treated with or without tetrandrine for an additional 2 d. Then, the cells were stained with rhodamine–phalloidin to observe the F-actin rings, and the areas of F-actin rings were calculated by Image-Pro Plus 6.0 software.
